The Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin is one of the top geosciences schools in the world. Comprised of leaders with expertise across a broad range of geosciences disciplines, the goal of the Jackson School is to advance understanding of the Earth, its resources, systems and environment, for the lasting benefit of humankind.
The Geoscience Empowerment Network (GEN) is a Jackson School-sponsored organization dedicated to achieving equity at the Jackson School among its students, faculty, researchers and staff members and creating a diverse community throughout the school.
GEN activities include:
- Minority recruitment and retention programs
- Mentorship and community building
- Professional development training.
